April was a busy month!

Lessons with David and Rachel and then ending with Dave Ellis' Working Cows Naturally clinic. Dove was giving me her all cantering everywhere after those cows. And some of them were mighty crafty at squeezing by. At one point one of them kicked at her chest and she certainly wanted no part of THAT cow afterwards. What a fun way to practise and progress our horsemanship. Playing with a moving object- keeping your focus, but remaining flexible, speed up, slow down, turn, stop and then doing this all as a coordinated group. Wow.

One of Dave's phrases that sticks in my mind: We are "Going so we can stop, stopping so we can back, backing so we can turn, turning so we can go." Focus on the next step and it will flow.

Much to think about.
